New NOAA Weather Radio Event

South Bend, Washington – The Pacific County Emergency Management Agency is coordinating with the Washington Emergency Management Division to host three NOAA Weather Radio Giveaways on Wednesday July 15th, 2015. The first will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Surf Pines Apartments, 141 First Avenue North, Ilwaco. The second will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Senior Center 21603 O Ln, Ocean Park.  The third will be at Willapa Harbor Hospital, 800 Alder Street, South Bend, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program is designed to educate the public on the warnings and alerts that may be issued from the National Weather Service.

Program participants will learn important information about tsunamis and how to make a home preparedness kit during a presentation by the Washington State Emergency Management Division. Participants may be eligible to receive a NOAA weather radio at no cost. All Pacific County residents are welcome to attend this training, however, radios are limited to the first 50 residents. Programming assistance will be provided.
