South Bend, Washington – Wahkiakum West Telephone Company has notified the Pacific County Communications Agency of a telephone outage affecting approximately 40 households in the area near the Naselle Youth Camp. According to Chief Deputy Stephanie Fritts from the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office, repairs are being made at the site of the culvert collapse on SR 4 adjacent to the Youth Camp. It is unknown at this time how long the outage will last.
It has been reported that cell phones have been affected as well. Any emergency reports should be made in person, to the Washington State Patrol, at their office located at 797 SR 4 just east of the Naselle School.
The State Patrol office will be staffed until 4:30 p.m. This information will be updated when repairs are completed. If repairs are not completed by 4:30 p.m. reporting information will be made available prior to that time.
